Fixation of violations on straightway road sections is performed by multi-lane complexes VOCORD Cyclops, which control from 2 to 4 lanes of one or both directions. The complexes used either radar or optical method of speed determination.

Data processing from VOCORD Cyclops complexes is carried out using a switchboard cabinet with inbuilt street server VOCORD SSCross. VOCORD SSCross is a turn-key solution for providing electricity to the control station and protecting communication lines and power supply. VOCORD SSCross is easy to install and maintain. It ensures minimum commutations at the control station: VOCORD Cyclops receives power supply and network connection through VOCORD SSCross, while VOCORD SSCross is also connected to power supply and network only.

Data from the control station is automatically extracted to the archive server with Traffic Archive software and exported to the police data centers

Data can be transmitted over both wired and wireless channels (WiFi, 3G/4G, GPRS) or manually extracted through the inbuilt WiFi router. In case of disconnection the street server operates in the autonomous data archiving regime. The period of autonomous operation can be 24 hours or longer, depending on the customer’s wishes and the model of the server.

Up to two VOCORD Cyclops complexes can be connected to one switchboard cabinet.

Crossroads are equipped with specialized cameras for license plate recognition VOCORD NetCam4, which cover from 2 to 4 lanes (depending on the model), and surveillance cameras. VOCORD NetCam4 cameras capture close-up images of vehicles and license plates. Surveillance cameras take “long shots”, where the car, the environment and the traffic lights can be seen, and record video (at customer’s option).

All video cameras can be installed on roadside poles without having to use L- or U-shaped supports or mount above the road. The number of cameras depends on a certain crossroads and types of violations to be registered.

To register such violations as “Crossing the stop-line” and “Running a red light” the system is connected to the controller of the traffic light and can also use a video analytics algorithm for traffic light detection.

Average speed detection is a way to deal with offenders who know about the systems installed and slow down before the control station, only to accelerate to a prohibited speed after.

To detect average speed, two control stations are mounted at the beginning and at the end of the road section. The average speed is calculated based on the time when the car passes the first and the second control stations and the length of the road section. Radars are not used for the purpose, therefore this system is impossible to detect with the help of antiradars.

Minimum length of average speed control sections is 500 m, maximum length is not limited, any road curves are acceptable if the following conditions are met: the difference in length between the right and the left sides does not exceed 1%.
